Kumbakonam Tour - Kumbakonam is situated in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. This fertile city of divine strife lies on the banks of Cauvery River. Day 01: Arrival in Tiruchirapalli

On your arrival at Tiruchirapalli airport, we will warmly receive you and drive you in our AC car to Kumbakonam tour, which is 92 km away. On reaching the city, we will lodge you in your hotel so that you may freshen up and relax. Rest of the evening will be yours.


Day 02: Tourist Places in Kumbakonam

After breakfast, you will be driven to Sankara Mutt, which is located on the banks of river Cauvery. Brindavans or the hermitages of three Jagath Guru Acharyas are the prime attraction of the mutt. Veda classes are still conducted to the day in Sankara Mutt. Brindavan of the Guru of the Guru of Rabindra Nath is located in the nearby Raghavendra Mutt. It is named after Guru Raghavendra and a huge crowd of faithful gathers here every Thursday for reverence. After lunch, we will visit Veda Patasala, which was built in 17th century by the Maharajah of Tanjore. Students of this 300 year old Patasala still learn Vedic mantras in traditional ways, head shaven and wearing traditional dhoti kurta.


Day 03: Tourist Places in Kumbakonam (continued)

We will pay of Kumbakonam tour, a visit to Sri Kasi Vishwanathar Temple in the morning after breakfast. Sri Kasi Vishwanathar temple is dedicated to god Kaayarohanar and goddess Vishalakshi. Nine rivers of Navakannigas have been depicted here in the form of stone statues. After visiting the temple, we will go to Sri Abhimugheswarar Temple which is dedicated to god Abhimugheswarar and goddess Amrithavalli. After lunch, we will visit Brahma Temple and Sri Nageswaran Temple during Kumbakonam tourism, which is famous for its wide corridors and excellent cave works. Sri Nageswaran temple is dedicated to god Nageswaran and goddess Brihun Nayagi. A beautifully decorated and ornamented chariot of god Nataraja in Ananda Thandavam pose is the prime attraction of Sri Nageswaran Temple.
