Mukurthi National Park
Mukurthi National Park falls within the precincts of Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve. It is situated about 40 km from Udhagamandalam town in Tamil Nadu. Nearest airport to the park is Coimbatore Airport, which is 140 km away. Nearest railway station to the park is Udagamandalam, which is 45 km away. National park is also well connected with a road that connects it with Udagamandalam. Best time to visit National Park is from February to May and September to November.
Day 01 : Arrival at Coimbatore
You will be received by our staff on arrival at Coimbatore Airport. You will thereafter be driven to your hotel room in Udagamandalam or Coimbatore, as per your preference. You will be allowed to relax and freshen up. Rest of the day would be yours. In evening, our representatives will apprise you with your next day's itinerary. Enjoy your sumptuous dinner in the hotel.
Day 02 : Visit to National Park
You will be driven to Mukurthi National Park in our AC car immediately after you have your breakfast. National park has a rich collection of flora, fauna and avifauna. Some of the animals that you must watch in the park include Sambhar, Nilgiris Marten, jungle cat, Barking Deer, elephants etc. The park is also habitat for some exotic bird species like Red Admiral, Blue Admiral, woodcock, whistling thrushes, black eagle etc. Parson Valley and Pykara Valley run through the park. National Park also has many trekking routes that are very popular among the wildlife enthusiasts. The valleys of the park have several varieties of fishes.
